Abstrak

Substation is an installation comprising electrical equipment which is the center of the load taken from the plant and were previously channeled to the transmission line. GIS is defined as a series of some equipment installed in a metal enclosure and insulated by pressurized gas. supplying the city of Padang, West Sumatra. If GIS Simpang Haru experienced the failure of Padang city experienced a blackout. At this time, the condition of GIS has not been known condition coupled with his age who have more than 10 years. Therefore, we need an action to determine the condition and reliability of each equipment. Technically GIS most affected by factors of SF6 gas as insulation media, the level of insulation condition of SF6 gas is linked to the performance levels of GIS as a whole, but note also other parameters to determine the condition of GIS. To determine the performance levels GIS can be used methods of condition assessment. Condition assessment or evaluation of reliability is to do a complete review of the condition of the equipment and its plans and actions according priority. The determination is based on the GIS condition monitoring diagnosis and risk assessment. Monitoring diagnosis consists of two namely: in service inspection and in service measurement, in service inspection consists of three forms which includes daily inspections, weekly and monthly while in service measurement consists of four tests that include quality of SF6 gas (purity, dew point and decomposition products), partial discharge activity, temperature, and corona. In the end the results of condition assessment performed a recommendation will be generated as a follow-up repairs.
